CatchCatch

User guide

Start here if you want to write and organize notes.

You need the address of a Catch server and an account on it. Ask the person running your server for the address or an invite link. Catch does not provide a hosted account service.

  1. Follow Installation and sign-in.
  2. Write your first note.
  3. Use the Gallery, Archive and Trash, or put active work in the Deck.
  4. Add tags, attachments, links and reminders.
  5. Learn how offline changes and app updates work before relying on Catch away from a connection.

The bar at the bottom is the dock. It switches between Deck, Gallery and Search. When a note is open, the dock shows that note's controls instead. On a phone, a note opens over the page; on a wide screen, it opens in a pane beside it.

While on Gallery, tap Gallery in the dock again to choose Reminders, Archive or Trash. You can also hold the Gallery tab to open those choices. Open Settings with the settings button in the Gallery header.

Keep private notes in the encrypted vault or share an ordinary note with a read-only link or a Markdown copy.

Settings and accounts lists your preferences. FAQ covers privacy, exports and current limits. Administrative controls are covered separately in Admin guide.
